The PS4 will be overshadowed in Japan by the PS3 and I think Sony is alright with that. The thing is, people on these forums are looking at the PS4 as a PS3 replacement but Sony is looking at it as another model in their line-up. The PS4 will gather steam slowly in Japan while the PS3 continues to sell software.
This does open the door for the Wii U, though. Let's see what they can do with the chance. However, I'd be surprised if the "Wii" series even gets close to half its total on the Wii.
