Should parents get back to having their kids say "Sir" and Ma'am" again?

I say sir and ma'am to my mother and father and to just about everyone I meet in real life, it's just good manners and yes my parent taught me that (I'm 24). Yes the world would be a better place if the average parents were better parents (or just didn't have kids) and this is a small example.
