Most online races are at night with dinymic weather (there are change to rain or not)... at least in the GT5 online the people like that.
But it is not just that that the next-gen racing games lacks... to give you a hint the Forza graphic engine needs to be remade because it is outdated for the next-gen (the cars model looks great BTW).
I know I know, for a launch game it is hard to remade a engine... so maybe they are planning to do that in Forza 6
