Yes, but i feel that the way the message is framed is one to tell the poor "shut up and be grateful for what you have, quit trying to better yourselves through legislation."

Where did i suggest that? Poverty is sticky, and the cycle needs to be broken first. How do we motivate them to stay in school and get an education, how do we provide adequate opportunities therein?
Hard work does not automatically provide opportunity for advancement.
