Tetsuya Nomura has commented on the development of two of his upcoming projects, “Final Fantasy XV” and “Kingdom Hearts 3.” According to a report by Player Essence on Aug. 17, the director confirmed that both video games will be developed first on the PC using Direct X11.
The development teams of Square Enix will then port “Final Fantasy XV” and “Kingdom Hearts 3” to compatible consoles. He also stated that they are hoping that the quality of the video games won’t be hindered when porting to consoles. You can check out his full comments below (courtesy of Player Essence):
Whichever consoles that handle that tool can be used to port the game, so we just care about the specification of each hardwares, and we hope that they would maintain the original high quality of the game we are making when it’s ported to the consoles.
Even though “Final Fantasy XV” and “Kingdom Hearts 3” are being developed for the PC first, Square Enix has only confirmed that the two titles will be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One. The company did hint that a PC version is possible.
