The term "rhetorical question" may be lost on you. Of course we decide what's best for us--but we can only decide from our point of view. What we see as something terrible may be something necessary in a greater scheme.

Necessary does not have any impact upon whether or not something is terrible. It can be terrible even if it's necessary.
I'm not sure you had a point in either of your responses to be honest. Seemed like total fluff.
