Facepalm to the infinite. this isn't about the arrested girl (no context to know if he is right). and no one is not saying he should "back off", he simply can't distribute punches to those who didn't punch him (or any other kind of damage)

Sure he can.  I mean, you can't just physically obstruct the police from making a valid arrest.   If you get physical with a cop they are well within their rights to subdue you physically to make the arrest.

Otherwise everytime there was a robbery they'd just pay a bunch of people to gently hold back the police by not striking at them but making it so they couldn't get past them without physically stopping them.
