gameplay is way too assisted/automated. I know it's done to drive the story, but this is overkill and borderline interactive movie.

Why is interactive movie a bad thing?  Adding interactivity to movies adds some great opportunities for unique storytelling.

Because I paid $70 for it. I can't justify that cost when all it requires me to do is push a button to turn the page.

Have you played Heavy Rain?  Because I'd assume you haven't.  Very creative use of the controller to draw you into the experience.  Multiple endings depending on your actions as well.  If you just keep mashing X you'll be staring at the first screen for quite a while.  I'm assuming more of the same here.

I haven't played it, but I've watched the gameplay interactive movie on youtube. Again, I can't justify $70 where I am required to turn pages all game long.

Take the Last of Us for example. It has cinematic style of combat, yet the player is still in full control while the story develops. This is the direction games need to be going.

Btw, you're taking the push button to proceed too literal. I understand there's some walking to do before the sequences begin.

You clearly haven't played it or watched much of it. Some sequences are indeed QTEs.  Others are some of the more interesting uses of a controller I've seen in any game that does a great job of connecting you to the action in ways a traditional narrative can't.  And lucky for you, you don't even have to pay $70 for it, because it only costs $20 now.  So, I'd suggest checking the game out.  At the very least you'll have an educated opinion, and you might actually like it.
