We must definitely focus on the ones that are playing, and hoping that they do not hold important roles.

There is as much of a chance at the ones not showing up are mafia as the chance that they are town.  There is no reason to only focus on the ones posting.

The reason is that we can't really test nor confirm anything if they are not going to post. Even if somebody brings up some information about them, it could  be bogus, and there is no way to counter it, if they do not post.

I do agree that they do pose a significant threat, as they could be very well mafia, and hiding in their absence, but, there is still game with the ones that are posting. For example, you mention a mafia of 3 players, even if baalz and trashleg are scum, there is a third one around. And do not forget the 3rd party.
