The substantivity was not solely monetarily.
You think people will not buy a console due to principle? This isn't a movie, this is the real world. If consumers want something, they will buy it regardless if it goes against their principles.
I still think there is no reason to pay for online if it's p2p, that's why dedicated servers for XBO and PS4 are VITAL. XBO will have the advantage here with a solid foundation for providing a dedicated experience if the devs want it.
It's funny that you argue that people won't know about the paywall going in, but if I asked if you knew about the XBL paywall going into purchasing a 360 I think you'd be singing a different tune.
Just classic hypocrisy. I'm used to it here.

Just responding to your statement about consumers buying things regardless of their principles. I disagree. There are a lot of things I don't buy due to principle, regardless of whether I want it or not.

Like I said, they will have to chose between principle and games....and games will win out. But by no means will the transition be like the snap of a finger. That was my point.
Your 360 line is a bit confusing, because I allready said that a Xbox gamer is used to the idea, but to a PS gamer the idea is still in the process of being embraced.
Its less hypocrisy and more of a cultural difference between Xbox and PS gamers, IMO.

It will be a snap. With PS360 there was an option to buy a console that didn't charge.
The option isn't there anymore. Or, it's at least less prevalent. (Wii U)
I'm not sure how you missed my point, but I'll repeat it. When you went to purchase a 360, did you or did you not realize that multiplayer gaming would be charged? It's not some big secret and it didn't seem to stop many from making the purchase. Same scenario here with PS4, but to a lesser extent because their competition is doing the same thing.

You don't know if it will be a snap. To me anyway, it doesn't matter if there isn't a choice anymore since both do it, for a PS gamer who exclusively plays on PS consoles, it is a change and there will be a transition phase. But I guess we will wait and see.
When I went to purchase a 360, I knew and expected it because the predesessor did it. PS3 as it stands was free and still is, as PS Plus is optional.
So it isn't quite the same scenario with PS4, as PS3 is optional, and yet PS4 is mandatory, where as Xbox was always mandatory. That was my point.
Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.
