And games like Watch Dogs and Grand Theft Auto V are being released this generation.  I would hardly say they are small.

Let's also look at a game called X for the WiiU which is pretty large scale.

They could have done the same thing with FFXV on PS3.  It just wouldnt have looked near as good.

What I'm trying to say is yes of course you can just keep cutting back on the graphics, but that's not the way it works, if the game looks like crap no one will even consider buying it.  What I'm asking is what games can still run on current gen and keep the standard for graphics established for this gen.  I don't think FF15 can do that,if it was on this gen with the same gameplay it has on PS4 it was look like crap and I think Ryse can because there is nothing really demanding about it besides its graphics.  Hope that clears things up.

Would you agree that Artsyle/Graphics and gameplay goes hand in hand? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=165448&page=1

I understand your point and all so no need to clear anything up.  We are making two different points.  You are saying that FFXV would suffer if it would be on current gen where as games like InFamous and Metal Gear Solid V would not suffer at all.  but you are missing that the power of the new consoles has allowed them to achieve what they have been able to.

Graphics goes hand and hand with the gameplay.  It makes them more immersive which is something software and hardware developers have been striving to do for decades.

Just like FFXIII was not possible on PS2 without having it suffering the same could be said about FFXV.  And just like Metal Gear Solid 4 could not be played on PS2neither will MGS5.

The gameplay would be relatively the same.  A few cut feautures like worst Artificial Intelligence, worst physics, etc but even the large scale games are capable on inferior hardware.  Xenoblade, Shadow of Collosus, and Grand Theft Auto Vice City can be a few examples.

Or you can use an example like Gran Turismo 3 vs Gran Turismo 5.  The gameplay is relatively the same but one thing that truly sets them apart is the immersion.
