I think that general sentiment words very well on a personal level and has been what I've tried my best to adopt, but things change when you think of these things on a larger scale. Things like gay and women's rights, and science education are being decided by people based on their religion which I find deplorable and is when I put that general rule aside and think it's best to start arguing my side on this. I don't want to be governed based off a religion I don't even believe in, and I don't think that's what the US was meant to be in the first place. |
I feel that if it is effecting people in a negative way such as Gay Rights people should take a stand as no one group should control a nation. Otherwise I think the preachiness is a bit annoying from both sides.
Brad Pitt - -"Like gay marriage, you got a group of people telling another group of people how to live their lives, and you can't do that. You really have to check what country you are living in because the freedom that allows you to practice religion is the same freedom you are stepping on, and that's not right. And I want to add that if there was a nation of gay married couples who were telling you that you couldn't practice religion I'd be speaking out for you too. So let's stop the nonsense."
