It is not a lie and the OS can be controlled with a controller as well. I agree that Kinect is way cooler for this though. |
1. Nope, just someone with a name. We've heard plenty of contradictory statements from MS reps previously. Half of them don't even know how the system works.
2. Are you sure, because this "announcement" says "for some people (covering the kinect) wasn't good enough, so we're allowing it to be unplugged as well". If this is a change, and boxes are already in production, then it would have to be in the patch. The only other option would be that this has been possible from the start, which I would then point you back to 1., where they said it required kinect to function.
4. Well we also heard in a press release that family share allowed you to share with up to 10 people anywhere, and then another anonymous representative said it was for a demo, so obviously, vague statements like "does not explicitly use kinect" aren't going to fly.
5. See, when you say it, it's so clear and crisp and direct. Why can't MS just say that?
6. I agree the kinect is much cooler for OS navigation. But again, we've heard a lot of contradicting statements from MS previously. Like I said, either this is part of the day 1 patch, or MS has been lying about the kinect requirement the entire time.
