nothing new ps3 and i believe 360 (atleast the slim) would protect themselves, although i only had this happen to me once this generation with the early 2100 model ps3 exhaust temp was about 140F on a humid night when it shut down
MS consoles since 360 slim shouldnt have OH problems since there pretty well ventilated even to the point where the top side of there consoles are vented, heat rises
