Great news here for those that don't care for Kinect I guess. Doesn't really change anything for me.
Even if they split the sku's and did a kinectless version for $399 or less, I am sticking with the bundle version.
Kinect has its uses, and I have some hope they can turn it into a thing this gen. Even if it is a complete failure it still if nothing else makes dance games much better without the need to hold a remote.

Good luck with that hope. They'll get more out of the smart glass than they did with Kinect. :)

Perhaps ... at least they will get more out of it than Sony will out of the Playstation 4 "I can't believe it's not Kinect" Camera.... I kid I kid relax you had it coming for that : )
Smart glass may actually become a thing though with them finally attempting to put it into games in a meaningful way ... at least with Deadrising 3 if nothing else. It could just end up being something they try at launch and abandon though.

Sonys already gotten more out of the move/eyetoy combo than MS has ever done with the Kinect, their biggest issue is that their support sucks terribly. The Eyetoy is the predecessor to Kinect in the gaming industry for motion gaming and Sony ruled out that the camera by itself could not do very much except for read the body but not take it into a 3D realm and properly control the character through the world they are in. This is why after they created the Eyetoy R&D worked on the Move in 2004.
As for the Smart Glass, yeah, its seems everyones investing heavily into tablets. Nintendo has already put it in their controller, Sony has their own tablet and MS has their and is working as a third party on other brands items. Dead Rising isn't really a reliable franchise to air the amazing nature of the Smart Glass, but its a start. The franchise is ok, but nothing major. If they can use the Smart Glass or the Kinect to make the game more than it is instead of easier that will give the franchise a totally different spirit because while its a good game it can get quite repetitive.

This post got it all!
"EyeToy is the predecessor of Kinect"
"Sony stopped supporting it, because you can't do much with it"
"PS Move was in development 2 years before the Wii was released"
Reality:
Kinect outsold EyeToy 3:1.
The PS Move did not sell at all. The Userbase is less than 5 million, even though Sony advertised this as a device that would change everything.
The Wii established Motion Controls. Period. It worked out great for Big N.
You really have to give other companies credit for the things they achieved. Nintendo for establishing Motion Controls for example or Microsoft for pushing online gaming on consoles more than anyone else... Try it, it won't hurt you.
See, I'll go first: Sony did a great job to push their new formats with their consoles.
