Could still happen.  Rare showed they still have talent outside of Kinect with games like Kameo and Viva Pinata.  It has been recently stated that they are in a time that they are recreating themselves but with them working on 3 games I expect one of them to be a nostalgic game.  

Though personally I want a Jet Force Gemini sequel.
