I think Infinity Ward is more ambitious than that when it comes to storytelling. My picks:

1) The dog becomes your wife.
2) The dog becomes president of the United States.

1 is definitely plausible. Originally, I thought you'd have to kill it because the dog is actually a russian spy, but I could see marriage being a good motive for murder as well.
