Being on the Famitsu most wanted list has no connection to a game selling well at all; all it really represents is that your game got a couple hundred votes from the "core" gamer demographic in Japan. The funny thing is this used to be the favourite argument of XBox fanboys that the XBox would come back in Japan. Countless games like Halo, Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden would hit this list and they would proudly proclaim that the Japaneese would embrace the XBox with these game releases; as you can tell it never happened. Even the Gamecube constantly had games which were at the top of the list yet it never seemed to gain any momentium.
