Is this in Sony discussion because it's confirmed to be a Sony related news, or is it just a guess?

Currently, Yakuza is regarded PS franchise even with the Wii U port. It is very fair to assume it will be PS exclusive. Even the creator of the series blew off any signs of Yakuza being multi plat when asked about Wii U version going forward. Nothing's impossible though.

I'm unfamiliar with the Yakuza series, but I happened to know about the Wii U port so I wasn't sure if there was something here I was missing.

Nagoshi also pointed out that the Yakuza series was born and breed on PlayStation hardware—which is something he hasn't forgotten. "It isn't jumping ship to Nintendo hardware," he added. "Yakuza 1 & 2 are coming out on the Wii U, and this is what it is."
