Sales and hype are not the same thing. You don't have to be hyped for a game to buy it, and you can be hyped for a game then not  buy it.

Sales and hype are not the same thing, I never said they were, but they're related (again, WSR is irrelevant because it's under conditions ordinary games never release in). I said before, everything has some level of hype, just saying that you have hype for something is a very broad statement because you're not telling anyone how just how hyped you are, you're not being specific. I have hype for Sonic Lost World, but that doesn't tell you anything aside from the fact that I'm excited. I just don't have enough excitement to buy it at launch or anywhere near launch (but I'll buy it eventually). If I had larger amount of excitement, as in a larger amount of hype, then I'll definitely do what I can to get it as soon as possible, and people with high levels of hype tend to do that. If you truly are extremely hyped for a game and don't buy it at launch, then you either had money issues, life issues, or you weren't really hyped for it as you said you were. If there's a ton of excitement for something, then sales should show that there indeed was a ton of excitement.
