The only person that can answer that question is someone that works at Valve...Just google it, there are plenty of articles saying Valve is looking into PS3 development that go back to 2010.  If L4D3 is coming out, or getting ready to be announced I bet it started development around that time.  See how things click together?

Source 2 wasn't even prepared in 2010. I can't see this clicking.

I mean, I can picture Left 4 Dead 3 on Ps3/Ps4, but for totally different reasons.
