Sorry but am I the only one who just assumed this when the game was first announced?

I haven't even played the game yet (bought it two weeks ago), and I assumed that. It's a pretty common theme in zombie/infected people apocalypse stories. I Am Legend, 28 Days Later, probably somebody in The Walking Dead eventually, etc.
