I don't think that's necessarily the mindset of the gamers, but rather the impersonal connections online.  None of us know this woman.  We have no idea what kind of person she is on the inside or the outside.  

Some people are beautiful on the outside and ugly on the inside.

This was a lovely post you wrote though.  Perhaps you shouldn't leave?  You could set a good example.  Talk to people about the topic.
