Snes basicly tied with megadrive and snes had extra features like mode 7, pre-rendering, and standard shoulder buttons. The ps1 and n64 had different features. One had disc technology and the other had palatable 3D. Ps2, on the other hand was the only console that gen that played dvds without special equipment. That's quite a feature for it's time. So anyway, you said what I was saying, the Wii U would be doing worse without the touchscreen feature. You say slightly I say mightily, either way, the feature is an advantage then. Especially in the long veiw and I'm glad no one copied it.

You say the person with the gamepad has the advantage over the person with the pro controller... Name one game where this is the case. You also asked me what's the point if you can just use regular controllers to do the job with less hand pain. First, I have arthritis, it hurts less when i use the gamepad and more when i use dualshock. I could tell you a long story but should be enough. Second, the benefit or point if you will, is multiplayer without cheating; looking at eachothers screen. I understand your point about it being a hard sell. Because it's a mental perception. I too want dual gamepad compatabillity. The issue is the gamepad costs 2 and a half times the price of a regular controller and the game must be programmed to support it. So there's not much incentive for consumers or developers right now. It will happen.

come on, dude. now youre reaching, those arent features and you know it. YOu really think that SNES target audience back in the day even knew what a mode7 prerending were? shoulder buttons? im sure SNESs flew off the shelves cause of those, and no their was no tie. SNES sold more, simple.THere was nothing feature wise in PS1, a cd format is just that a format not a feature. If the Wii U has this advantage and its selling SO poorly, then IMHO thats not really an advantage.

COD and thats about it, but thats my point, devs are not really going to push it as so not really give the advantage. At least not in terms of MP games, you really think they are going to go all out with tablet features for say MK and Smash bros? Not unless they want broken MP. Sorry about the arthritis, but and i know this is gonna sound mean, YOU are in the minority. Im glad you can game and have a controller that is comfy for you, but in the end Ninty has to kinda go for the braodest audiences. YOu dont have to tell me how much it costs, i know already. Heres the thing that still doesnt make it any less of a harder sell, people are NOT going to feel sorry or care how much it costs, they are going to look at it and do what they have been doing...walking away. Multiplayer without cheating? taht only works if EVERYONE can use the gamepad, and they cant, thats my pont. If im playing COD and im using the pad I can still look a the screen if I want and see where people are at, everyone else does not have that option. Their is NO perception about it. Unless devs dont make it like that then what would be the difference between that and a regular controller?

I was hyped for the system, i was. But the more i heard the less hyped i got, it wasnt as powerful system and the pad. And i never would imagine that Ninty would actually go through with just one pad per system. That literally destroys the how "Wii would like to play" thing they had going. Not even two. I see why its barely advertise, how could they? They cant carry the whole local MP dynamic cause people will say "one per player, what kind of crap is that" they could focus on the SP games that would push the pad more, Zombi U and the like but then that goes against what people liked about the Wii.

The definition of "Feature" is this: . A prominent or distinctive aspect, quality, or characteristic. Unlike megadrive, snes could perform mode 7 3D graphics (like in starfox) and pre-rendered 3D graphics (like in donkey kong country). Distinct qualities not found in megadrive and yes it did fly off shelves because of it. Playstation played music cds. That's not a feature? You've got to be kidding. It held more data. That's not a feature?

I agree with most of the rest of what you said. Especially the part about one pad per system affecting local multiplayer. It needs to be fixed and it will.

If the Wii U has this feature, and IF it were the case that it was selling well, then the mega-corps would copy it before launch, and Wii U would be at a disadvantage offering nothing but an inferior cookie cutter copy of trendier devices.
