I agree with majority of your post. But Nintendo isn't a huge company like Sony or Microsoft. It's worth only 6 billion US $ whereas companies like Disney are worth $60 billion. They dont have the money to snatch every big multiplatfrom game so they rather focus on exclusive partnership like Platinum and Sega recently. Plus GTA isn't as huge as COD (which i believe Nintendo helps fund for for its own consoles).
Frequently paying for multiplatform game is a bad spending habit, especially with Nintendo's revent struggle with launching the 3DS and Wii U. Relying on first party and exclusive game is better until their revenue becomes mich biggrt than it is now.
