What are you going on about? I don't care if GTA5 comes to Wii U. I'm just saying it makes sense. Ubisoft said it was easy to port PS360 titles to Wii U and cost about a million bucks to do it. If Rockstar sold 100k they would easily cover costs. The rest is gravy. |
What I'm on about is that it mightn't make sense to port GTA5 across to Wii U. Yes, Ubisoft said games cost less than 1 million to port across, but you need to keep in mind what games they were referring to when they made that statement. At the time Wii U games from Ubisoft were Your Shape: Fitness Evolved, Sports Connection, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Online, and Assassins Creed 3. Out of those games, only Assassin's Creed 3 would be anywhere near the size and complexity of GTA5. So the 1 million dollar port cost point is likely not valid for a game the size of GTA5.
If the port did cost 1 million dollars, the other question might be why the hell nintendo isn't paying that themselves to Rockstar? Surely even Nintendo can see the positive impact having GTA5 on the Wii U would have, and for $1 million dollars? Thats chump change for Ninty. The fact it hasn't yet, might indicate that it really is a lot higher cost than what you proposed, and therefore not economical to do.
