There are three possible outcomes (listed in order from best to worse for gamers in general).

1. Buying company realizes that Atlus properties made for various platforms and various tastes and wishes to continue that -- perhaps with some expansion and better decision-making.

2. Buying company wants to use IP to expand its lineup and focus on "new areas of development: (read the current infatuation with development for mobile OS platforms).

3. Buying company wishes to make Atlus a first/second-party developer.


Given the market, I expect the second choice, would not be surprised by the third (but probably not by Sony since it does not have the cash reserves), and would be (pleasantly) surprised by the first.
