10 years... then it should not be a problem to keep 3 years of warranty like the xbox 360 maybe they can even give us 5 years.

I truly hope that they do not only give 3 months like before.

Xbox 360 has a 1 year warranty.  Not 3 years.

The RROD had a 3 year warranty, but in general the Xbox 360's did not.  Originally the console had a 90 day warranty.

I got a E74 error after 2 years in 2009 and they fixed it for free. So even if the 3 years warranty was officialy just for the RROD they were probably fixing many more issue type under the same warranty.

But anyway Microsoft public image on reliability is still suffering from the 360. So for them to put a 3 - 5 years warranty on the One is imo a great way to recover public trust and increase the number of early adopter at a low cost (if it's truly as reliable as they claim).

The E74 was added to the 3 year warranty about the same time as the standard warranty increased to 1 year.  I think it was between January 2010 and March 2010, because March was when I found out the warranty increased to 1 year.

After, I believe it was, the Jasper units were released, the number of E74 errors increased.
