WoW - The visual studio suite is great for Windows development. TBH, I haven't had that much experience with other suites (the only ones I can remember are Code::Blocks and Bloodshed-Dev c++), but VS has never failed me.
And, Smug, have you actually tried closing all of Visual Studio down, and relaunching the application?
