Sony are chugging along nicely with the PS4. There are some unpleasant news here and there, but nothing that can be actually considered bad regarding the next console.
I don't really care what they'll say at Gamescon. Long as they do anything monumentally fucky upy, I think Sony are in as good a position as they can be right now. I'm not calling winners for next gen, but it's good to see one of the three show actual interest in what they're doing this time. Microsoft is coming along nicely so far as well, so I'm pretty confident that next gen may be pretty good for everyone, of every console persuasion. If Nintendo get their act together a bit more and start delivering for their core audience - as I've seen they're doing already -, then everyone can finally be happy.
I'm sick of doom and gloom, finally I'm seeing good expectations for next gen.
