Errrrr... why are you lumping Nintendo in with this when Dyack is talking about huge budgets?  Nintendo typically has fairly small teams and reasonable budgets.  Zelda is the only franchise with a huge budget, and even that's small potatoes compared to games like Call of Duty and Skyrim.  Nintendo really doesn't adhere to the AAA business model.


Because of sequels and lack of new IPs, but that could be my personal opinion. As much I'm excited for the next Zelda, I wish they'll just end the series and move on. :/

That's kind of irrelevant to the article which was about game budgets expanding to monstrous sizes.  Nintendo's whole MO is keeping budgets down.

Yes, but sequels is also a big issue as well, not only from a budget stand point but a gamer stand point as well. Skyward Sword was a dissappointment from a selling point of view compare to the other Zelda games, New Super Mario Bros U was a failure to, though they could had made a profit off off them if the budget is low who know. This could be a sign that people want to see something new that defind Nintendo.
