But he's right, I think what was shown is fantastic, the bit where it maps the surroundings, projects it and manipulates it is the best bit but some other parts were a bit pointless. This is because of the distortion caused by your surroundings, I could hardly tell it was going that at first and when it did the film thing at the end it was nigh on unwatchable, in the case of the films bit a projector is the key if you want a big experience (ignoring the idea that there is a big black box in the middle :P).

And like he says, bit useless if you have a game that has Kinect features in it if it's not watching you.

All this said looking at the video, can you not jsut use the Kinect as a projector? You don't even need a TV.

Well, I would not say he is right just an opinion.  There was nothing pointless about the presentation because its a proof of concept.  People seem to forget what that means.  Its an Ideal to show how something can be done not something that will be done.  It's directed to show different features but not complete features.  These are specific ideals the developers thought of and made into a proof of concept, that does not mean this is the totallity of how this tech can be applied or what would make actual commercial features if this get released.

As for the statement that if a game i doing body tracking you cannot use this feature, well duh.  What if you can do one or the other and the person using the device get to choose which feature he feels important or fun.  In other words this is just another extension of your gaming experience, not a replacement.

On the subject of just using the projector without the TV, the key here is that you do not get the extension of your peripheral vision, you just get a bigger display.  The tech is designed to extend your peripheral vision of the environment contained within the game.  this does not work if you just project the game bigger on the wall.  This is the reason why some people miss certain concepts because they do not think about what the presentation is trying to present.

Here is the problem and why he complained, it's not on PS4, that simple.
