I love people saying hire a hacker
or
it should be easy to hack....
first when you see how much it cost for a little noob geek per hour to work on grandma's malware infected 10 years old laptop... I doubt if the police doesn't already have a computer science department that they have anywhere close to the budget to hire a high level security hacker...
and even if they did have that budget, if the guy is not a complete moron his level of encryption should be so high that even if it could be remotely possible to hack the encryption, the time and resources needed would be enough to dissuade anyone to even attempt the task
