Er whut? The Wii U will be competing with every other console on the market, just like those consoles will be competing with the rest.

Nintendo does it's own thing. When you compare the libraries of the next gen consoles, the Wii U has completely different games than the others. Nintendo relies on their first party games while Sony and Microsoft rely on third party games. If Nintendo was really trying to compete, they would have made the Wii U on par with the PS4 and X1.

That's just their strategy for dealing with the competition, being different.
