They don't look very nice and they can be "confusing" but it's like a staple for the mainline SMT games! XD

If there is any point in SMTIV where the overworld map even vaguely resembles that, I haven't gotten to it yet.

So far, the overworld reminds me of the maps in Baten Kaitos.

 

If it looks that nice cool then but I am not complaining! xD Just the reviews complain about it. Personally I played the original 2 for the Super Nintendo and never got lost but they where kind of confusing sometimes!
