As far as Steamroller, you may be right... I am going simply on what has been reported on thus far.

http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2208525/amd-sticks-with-socket-am3-for-steamroller

He is memory limited, not bandwidth limited. I should know know, I run into the same limitations on my own system running at 7680x1440 despite using PCI-E 3.0 16x.
When you become memory limited, the GPU has to send more information down the PCI-E bus to access the information in System Ram/HDD, which is where he sees the impact.

As for Steamroller, The Inquirer is reporting on rumor, AMD has neither confirmed or denied it yet. - I would love to see AM3+ get Steamroller, both my AMD systems (1090T HTPC and the FX 8120) will get upgraded to it if it's compatible, I just wouldn't buy into a platform hoping for a future CPU release, you might walk away dissapointed like so many when they jumped onto AM3 hoping for world-changing Bulldozer. (And thus only having the ASUS Crosshair IV support the CPU's unofficially!)

That OCZ PSU is decent, lots of amps on the 12v rail, not a bad choice.

Also Op, welcome to the PC Gaming master race, may all your games be good ones!
