Hey guys, I just sold my 3 year old laptop for $460 and was going to purchase another laptop but have switched mindsets and will be building a budget based gaming pc.

Budget: Up to $850

What I have found:

Motherboard: Asus z87a

Processor: Intel core i5 4570k

Memory: 8gb Kingston HyperX Red (4gbx2) 1600 mhz

Graphics: Gtx 650 ti 2gb

Power Supply: Ultra LSP650 650 watt

Hard Drive: WD Blue 500 gb sata 3.5" 7200 rpm

Cd: LG 24x DVD Burner

Case: Thermaltake Commander MS-I Tower Case

OS: Windows 8 64 bit

I dont intend on overclocking initially but want the option open hence a z87 mobo and unlocked cpu. The gpu could go up or down slightly if its seen as over/underdone. I realize the hard drive and power supply may not be the greatest but thats part of a pack so it will likelybe upgraded eventually. I may do a ssd for games and os but not quite yet.

My whole cost at the moment is about 775 after shipping. Im curious if there are other parts I need to buy such as wires or cooling type stuff? Otherwise does this look decent for a mid level rig or are certain things lacking?

Your CPU is overkill and your GPU is a very weak.

-Go with the cheapest IB or HW i5 you can get or an FX-8320.

-Get a 650 Ti Boost/7850 2GB with the money saved, or get this 7870GHz for $185!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah he should update the OP...the rig he got includes:

FX 6300

MSI 970 - G43 mobo

7870

240 GB SSD

OCZ ZT - 750 W PSU

For less money than the initial rig listed I believe.
