Are we counting every person who downloads Drive Club PS+ edition as a sale?

Hopefully not because you don't buy it.

But you don't get the whole game or something like that. You then buy the rest of the game (cars and tracks I think). So it's basically Drive Club at a discounted price if you were to buy all the cars and tracks.

Will Sony or Microsoft even be upfront with their digital sales ever week or month? I can certainly see Sony counting the PS+ edition download as a sale. I can already see this topic being a never ending argument lol

That's not what I meant. On PS+ you don't "buy" games. This cannot count as a digital sale, no matter what Sony will say :) Then they have to reduce numbers also if people quit their membership :)

Problem is they can say whatever they want. I think there are only 2 ways of looking at it.

1) Either we except the number Sony gives us... assuming they even do that. It may or may not include PS+ Edition

2) We dispute said number without any real way of taking PS+ Edition number out

I guess Sony may provide a digital number without PS+ included but it seems unlikely imo
