I would rather they stay quiet than put on a circus show like Microsoft did with their policies. The problem I personally see here is that no one gave a shit that these companies hadn't really been clear on RAM allocation up to this point. Now, all of a sudden, Sony's communication on this is a big deal. Why? Because a bunch of Microsoft fans demand it? For most, that's what this is really all about. Sony never actually disclosed the allocation. It was all assumptions. Now a rumor comes out and Sony now must absolutely talk about something they might have not wanted to talk about in the first place in regards to something that if it's 5, 6, or 7 really doesn't matter because either way they're at the same amount or higher than what the Xbox One seems to be using?

I don't know.  Compared to the reveals last generation versus this generation, I think last generation with all the information available up front, was much better than this.  Seriously.

Things are more complicated this time around. We're not entering a generation where one company had been the dominant force for over 10 years and the other two barely scraped by. This generation is watching a resurgent company that wants its throne back slamming heads with another company that went from being a total underdog to a major player that wasn't too far away from winning itself. Both of which have to keep a watchful eye on the sneaky old war vet who should never be counted out. It is not going to be unusual at all for these companies to play their cards close to their chests this time. Even Nintendo is staying tight lipped about some of their projects where many people think they should spill whatever they have to generate more interest. Sony has done quite well for themselves up to this point of being careful when and how they release certain information. Don't expect them to toss that to the wind with something like this. I'd like for it to all be out in the open too but considering what these companies have riding on all of this, I understand why they don't.
