There are a lot of sentiments in your opinion that are true to the average core gamer. Look, most gamers seem to think that M$ built the XBone platform(under its original plan) to screw gamers. Obviously, M$ did present it the wrong way. Most people took every idea that M$ came up with and tried to find the worst possible scenario from it and say that is all that it can be. From a different perspective, M$ wasn't reinventing ggaming or even starting the next generation. They were simply following most of the industry trends and adopting the digital formats. The problem for them was just the OP said, the core gamers were left out of the message. We will have to wait and see if they actually left the core out of their message because they thought the core would be there either way or if they thought the core didn't matter anymore. Only time will tell.
