But one of the points they made when it was coming out was "look, you can play SMB on it!"  they knew.
@v-rock: Yeah, for a small budget, it's great - granted, however, you can assemble a basic PC that can do the same much better quite cheaply. Everyone needs a PC, anyway.

You can. but then you get the overhead of a PC, and the Ouya is a LOT more portable. Some people want equipment dedicated towards doing a specific function. On that note, if one is going to argue for a general device that also does gaming, then why bother with consoles? Can end up getting superior gaming on a PC from specs, right?

Not for the price of either the WiiU, PS4, or X1 just yet...
It's both cheaper and more portable, but the people who wanted it for that dedicated purpose seem to have gotten it. There isn't that much demand, it seems.

The PC is always going to eventually jump over what consoles do. And now, with the who X86 base, it will be even more so, with more games going to the PC. So, I would suggest people busting on the Ouya, who also have other consoles to stop and think what they are saying.
The Ouya is in a similar boat as consoles, just its focus is homebrew stuff, and apparently emulators. At this point you have the Ouya being the most well known of the Android-based micro-consoles. Will see what follows.
