I'm pretty sure the GPU in the PS4 would bottleneck the system before it needed more RAM. 5.5 GBs is enough and I believe as the gen goes on they could optimize the OS even more and maybe bump it up to 6GBs for games. Regardless I'm just glad that the OS will be functional. I've raged plenty of times using the stupid XMB when checking messages, trophies etc and the system basically freezing or taking forever to load. I'll be getting an Xbox One first but I"ll pick up a PS4 as well. Both consoles will have great looking games.
