PS4 RAM drama?

Does anyone have recent figures on RAM prices in the market? Perhaps they went up sharply.

If not, my guess is they'd announce that the CPU side will be treating the GDDR5 like DDR3 in order to prevent false positives in logic computation that GDDR can sometimes give.
