Love: a profoundly tender, passionate affection for another person

Using this definition, Love can be explained as survival instinct. It keeps human beings together (humans work better in groups) against threats and facilitates the continuation of the species. Adults who are attached (or love) their infants increase the probability of those infants living. Two people who love each other and work as a team are better than two seperate individuals, etc.

Then why people do stupid things for love that follow no logic?
