I thought the margin compression was pretty awful, especially given all that iPhone growth. I've heard some people suggest older iPhones have better margins, but this doesn't seem to bear that out. iPad contraction was also really disappointing, even if it is only seasonal. There should be tons of growth left in that market.

The silver lining for Macs is that, even if they are shrinking, they're shrinking slower than the rest of the conventional PC market.

It's low margin, but iTunes was the fastest-growing segment at Apple this quarter. That's important, because it's the glue that ties together Apple's whole product line and it will be essential as the smartphone and tablet markets transition from rapid growth to trench warfare.
