No it's not. I don't even see why you would even say that. You might not like replaying very old games, but a lot of people do. It doesn't matter if you've beat a game. I beat Tomba in 1997 and played it and beat it again a few days ago. It felt fucking awesome. I didn't remember most of the events that happen and the few things that I did remember made me very nostalgic. Of course you can play Tomba on ps3 (but it looks terrible) and psp (not as good as on vita, but still pretty good).

The games available on psvita (non ports) are pretty darn awesome and I'm not surprised you say that, since you don't have one. But still calling it a waste is a very strong statement and I would avoid it if I were you in the future. It's a result of ignorance, since you haven't played most of them if any. That's why you don't see me calling WiiU a waste, as I've only played one game (Rayman Legends) on it at my local HMV. Since I don't own one and don't know enough about its exclusives, not only am I not calling it a waste, but I don't comment negatively on positive threads about WiiU, especially considering my limited knowledge of its value.

I love replaying old games, but why would you pay $250 for a console, only to buy the game again? Seems redundant, why not just beat the version you already own?

What games on Vita aren't ports? Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Resistance, Unit 13? Not much....

Of course I don't have a Vita, I have a PSP, it's much better. Ignorance? LOL No it's counting, PSV doesn't even have a single exclusive JRPG.. and it's biggest original games are washed down PS3 franchises. PSP had Crisis Core, Jeanne D'Ark, The 3rd Birthday etc. It didn't rely on Grand Theft Auto and God of War, like PSV relies on Uncharted and Killzone.

So tell me, why own a Vita if you already have the ports, and if you have a PS3? All Vita is is a second PS3 that's more limited, but portable. ATM you're paying a lot of money to play the exact same games you own (if your primary reasons are ports and PS3 multiplat games). This to me seems like a waste, and judging from its sales, most agree with me.

----

Look, I don't mean to spoil the party, clearly people who like the PSV love it. I'm just giving my 2 cents. The OP gave a list of games, and said "this is why you should have a PSVita." The title clearly is telling me that I should have a PSV, and I'm just saying I don't because the lineup is all ports or downgraded PS3 games.

I stand by my point that your post displays remarkable ignorance. Also, the bolded statement is factually incorrect. Not all the games are ports or have anything to do with ps3 games.

1. Soul Sacrifice: neither port or downgraded ps3 game

2. Gravity Rush: neither

3. Escape Plan: neither

4. Lumines: neither

5. Smartas: neither

6. Unit 13: neither

7. Uncharted: FFF (not listed): neither (has nothing to do with Uncharted gameplay on ps3).

Not sure about the rest.

You haven't played these games and thus have no idea whether the system is worth it for these games alone. Also, how would you know whether Assassin's Creed: Liberation (or even Uncharted:GA) is a downgraded ps3 game? Have you played it? How can you call the system a waste with no educated opinion?

"why not just beat the version you already own?": as I mentioned, psone classics look bad on a big tv screen, so neither a psone console nor a ps3 are a good enough option for many gamers. Psp and psvita are the superior devices to play them at the moment. Plus, not every psvita owner has a (working) ps3 or psone. Should they look on ebay for a psone or buy a ps3 to play psone games?

"What games on Vita aren't ports? Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Resistance, Unit 13? Not much....": factually incorrect as stated above, but also, why does it matter? People play and enjoy ports all the time. Just because Sound Shapes or Guacamelee are also available on ps3, doesn't make them any less enjoyable on psvita and according to some people (including myself), they are a better fit for a handheld rather than a console. You can't play either in your bed, on the train, on a break at work or uni. Vita is the only option.

"No it's counting, PSV doesn't even have a single exclusive JRPG": in the west sure, but in Japan too? Are you sure about that?

"All Vita is is a second PS3 that's more limited, but portable.": this is why I said you're ignorant with such post. You haven't played most if any psvita games yet you call them watered down ps3 games. How would you know? You expressed your opinion and I express mine,  with facts though, because on this topic I am not ignorant. On 3ds and WiiU, even wii that I own, I admit that I am, hence why I don't call any system a waste.

I don't like games like Halo or the milking of Mario games; as a result, I haven't bought a 360 or a wiiu/3ds (will buy a 3ds for pokemon though). However, I'm well aware that just because I don't like them or don't think highly of them, that doesn't make the games or the consoles a waste. Just not for me. Also, your argument about sales as a proof of quality has been proven several times weak. There are many reasons psvita is doing bad. It still doesn't mean that gamers see it as a waste (some refuse to buy till it gets a price cut, others because of the memory cards, others don't have the funds, others already have too many games to play already on other systems, others are waiting for localization of jrpgs released in Japan, etc). Simply put, for many gamers 3ds seems like the better deal, not 3ds the best thing since sliced bread and psvita a piece of garbage (I'm not suggesting you said that).

No one said you can't express your opinion, but when you post factually incorrect statements, don't expect people not to give their opinion on your opinion.
