Michael-5 said: I love replaying old games, but why would you pay $250 for a console, only to buy the game again? Seems redundant, why not just beat the version you already own? What games on Vita aren't ports? Uncharted, Gravity Rush, Resistance, Unit 13? Not much.... Of course I don't have a Vita, I have a PSP, it's much better. So tell me, why own a Vita if you already have the ports, and if you have a PS3? All Vita is is a second PS3 that's more limited, but portable. ATM you're paying a lot of money to play the exact same games you own (if your primary reasons are ports and PS3 multiplat games). This to me seems like a waste, and judging from its sales, most agree with me. ---- Look, I don't mean to spoil the party, clearly people who like the PSV love it. I'm just giving my 2 cents. The OP gave a list of games, and said "this is why you should have a PSVita." The title clearly is telling me that I should have a PSV, and I'm just saying I don't because the lineup is all ports or downgraded PS3 games. If someone made a thread saying "You should own a Wii U" then you can go in and say what you like, it's a public forum. PSP had the exact same problem early in its life too, but then it got some good games. I'm really disappointed in Vita because it doesn't have well any major unique games coming out. God Eater 2 is also coming out to PSP (at least in Japan), and....then there is nothing.

I wouldn't call myself PS "fan", but I've been consistent with PS consoles. I owned a PSP and I've bought several games digitally, I own PS3 and I also bought several PS One classics on it. So I can't say that I got PSV to play those games on it, but I'm glad that I get more value from my previous purchases. Even though I prefer retail copies (I'm a collector), I buy quite a lot of digital games on Vita. So many great sales of PSP, PS One and PSN games. It's hard to say no when you can get them for less than 2,99€.
Anyway... Playing PSP games and PS One games on Vita works remarkably well. Thx to Vita's screen games look great, PSP games that suffered from performance issues (slowdowns) don't have that problems on Vita, and on Vita you can assign controls to 2nd analog stick, so games like Monster Hunter Freedom Unite becames more enjoyable when you actually can rotate camera with 2nd stick... And in "really" old PS One games that didn't feature analog sticks, you can without any issues assign controls to analog stick. (Crash Bandicoot I'm looking at you).
There are many games that aren't ports. To the once you mentioned I can freely add LBP Vita, ModNation Racers, Dynasty Warrior Next, Reality Fighters, Everybody Golf 6, WipeOut 2048, Soul Sacrifice... upcoming Tearaway, Freedom Wars, Toukiden, KZ: Mercenery, God Eater 2...
And NO... PSP is no way better than Vita. How can it be? Vita can do everything it does, does it better and does so much more at same time as well. Why are you so caught up on "exclusive" JRPG's? Don't you see that Japanese have moved to hunting games. Sure I would like to see some exclusive JRPG's, hell I would like to see Tales games localized... but it's still soon in Vita's life... Hell, even the games you mentioned were released Jeanne D'Ark in 2006, Crisis Core in 2007, 3rd BDay in 2010... and PSP was released in 2004/05. And actually PSP did rely on GTA and GT and MGS at least in west. The crowd that enjoys games that start with J in west is more of a niche.
How is exactly PSV "more limited"? I can play Sly 4, NFS MW, PSABR, MK, Rayman Origins... that offer same experiance on Vita as on PS3, while being able to play them anywhere I want. The only part of the games that gets "adjusted" is the level of visual detail. But for the games that you play on a very vibrant 5'' screen, that really isn't an issue. Vita doesn't need to sell 100 million consoles to be successful, actually with small user base that it now has it's actually doing quite well. And buying Vita so you can enjoy multiplats, is not a bad thing. Can you play your PS3 when you're using public transportation, when you're on plane or vacationing? NO you can't, but I can :P
Vita is still early in it's life, and I have high hopes for this years GamesCom. And even if GamesCom will be shitty, I'll still look forward to Rayman Legends, Freedom Wars, YS, FF X/X-2, God Eater 2, Toukiden.... and I think that my budget can't handle any more full releases at this time anyway...

Ignorance? LOL No it's counting, PSV doesn't even have a single exclusive JRPG.. and it's biggest original games are washed down PS3 franchises. PSP had Crisis Core, Jeanne D'Ark, The 3rd Birthday etc. It didn't rely on Grand Theft Auto and God of War, like PSV relies on Uncharted and Killzone.
