In that case, the fundamental problem isn't porn, it's bad parents. As far as I know, people used to be able to parent their children. Now, not so much, it feels. Maybe instead figure out what's wrong with parents? Don't you find it a bigger problem than porn?

Absolutely.  When you figure out how to fix bad parents, let me know.  Until then I'm happy with the gov't dealing with porn.  And I don't have a problem with having to call my IP to unlock the ability for me to view a little 5-way lesbian action.

The first step would be giving them some responsibility. The second step, if you really think laws are the solution to everything, would be having being a bad parent punishable - with severe punishments to enforce it. I'd prefer education, though.

Also, I don't live in the UK but I know I wouldn't have a problem with calling my IP to unlock porn. Well, I'm not sure if that would really be possible since I'm using the same network as the university... But anyway. My problem is with censorship in general and the fact that it's on by default. If it was off by default, I wouldn't be complaining. But then there's also the thing that kids are pretty smart, they'll get their way around this, especially considering there's just no way all porn is getting blocked. If anything, there'll be the shadier types of porn left that kids can watch, and I bet that's a real problem.

That's a good question, actually. What about people who are using University Networks, where they don't have any actual relationship with the service provider?
