Final Fantasy XII was released before it would have been accepted by the FF fanbase.

I like FFXII, I felt it could have been more popular if it had the Zodiac system from the start. Mature story, awesome voice acting too.

The only downside I see with FFXII is the summons are near useless and Asche should have been the lead character.
