For whatever reason, the tech media is just high on Google.  Everything is on the rise and will continue that way (repeated use of the word "could" for instance).  I recall Google TV even getting that same treatment until it failed and they just stopped talking about it instead of bringing its failure up every 3 days.

So no, it doesn't make sense for a segment of the market to be so doomed from one perspective (the MS one where the PC market is dying and being replaced by tablets running iOS and Android) and on the rise from another (Chromebook sales rising signficantly and threatening that same doomed market).

wow! Well that is a fine bit of reasoning right there, sir.  Mabey you will even be able to convince yourself that the chromebooks aren't growing saleswise at all, and any gains are just a figment of the illogical mind.  

Let me try to get by the mental block.  Question:  is the sub-$300 netbook market doomed  and being replaced by tablets or not?
